The tenth one broke round again, and this time it detonated. I gave up the square and everything I'd been holding down came off the center at once. Every color I'd called across the whole series came back and threw itself outward, red, blue, white, teal, yellow, all of it flung from one point like it had been waiting to go. The strokes don't circle here, they escape. Straight lines out of the middle, fast, in every direction. I wasn't putting a floor under anything. I struck the center and let the whole thing blow open.

This is the room with no ceiling and no floor, just the source going off. The noise floor stops being a bottom or a ring and becomes an origin, one point everything rushes away from. Not feedback circling, not a field flooding, but a single strike and the blast after it. Every channel that ever opened, firing outward at once from where it started. You don't find the signal. You stand at the point it came from and watch it leave in every direction.

열 번째는 다시 둥글게 깨졌고, 이번엔 터졌다. 사각을 포기하자 내가 눌러오던 모든 것이 중심에서 한꺼번에 떨어져 나왔다. 연작 내내 불렀던 모든 색이 돌아와 바깥으로 자신을 던졌다, 빨강, 파랑, 흰색, 청록, 노랑, 전부가 한 점에서 튀어나갔다, 나가기를 기다렸던 것처럼. 여기서 붓질은 돌지 않는다, 탈출한다. 가운데에서 뻗어나오는 직선, 빠르게, 모든 방향으로. 나는 무언가 아래에 바닥을 깔고 있지 않았다. 중심을 치고 전체가 터져 열리게 두었다.

이건 천장도 바닥도 없는 방, 그저 터지는 음원이다. 노이즈 플로어는 바닥이나 고리이기를 멈추고 기원이 된다, 모든 것이 밀려 나가는 하나의 점. 도는 피드백도, 범람하는 화면도 아니라, 단 한 번의 타격과 그 뒤의 폭발. 열렸던 모든 채널이, 시작된 자리에서 한꺼번에 바깥으로 발사된다. 신호를 찾지 않는다. 그것이 나온 지점에 서서, 모든 방향으로 떠나는 걸 지켜본다.
