[A Spiderweb Boy Holds the Sun]

 A boy with blue hair stands in front of dark mountains. The purple sky behind him is full of shapes that could be ghosts or could be noise. His body is tangled into the background like he grew out of it. On his chest, a target. In his hands, an album cover I painted for my band The Spiders, inspired by William Blake. He’s holding my own work inside my own work. The web was never something that caught him. He was born in it. He just hasn’t decided if that’s a tragedy or a superpower.

 파란 머리 소년이 어두운 산 앞에 서 있다. 보라색 하늘에 유령인지 소음인지 모를 형체들이 떠 있다. 몸은 배경과 엉켜서 거기서 자라난 것 같다. 가슴에는 과녁, 손에는 내 밴드 더 스파이더스의 앨범 커버가 있다. 윌리엄 블레이크에서 영감받아 내가 그린 것이다. 내 작품 안에 내 작품을 들고 있는 셈이다. 거미줄은 소년을 잡은 게 아니다. 소년은 그 안에서 태어났다. 그게 비극인지 초능력인지는 아직 본인도 모른다.
